Clinical Trial

A trial is in progress in collaboration with the Sydney Royal North Shore Hospital. The aim of the study is to assess the feasibility of smart phones and wearable sensors (ECG, Accelerometer) for remote monitoring of cardiac patients.

We expect to involve approximately 200 participants in the study. Each participant will use the equipment for 4 weeks.

If you live in Sydney and would be interested to be part of this trial please contact us at

What will happen to the participant if they take part?
You will be monitored for four weeks. There will be an initial interview. You may then be contacted during the study by telephone or via email if available to answer survey questions. No blood tests are required. The equipment will be provided. The initial visit should last no more than one hour or so. There is no need to visit the GP or hospital clinics more often than for your usual treatment.

Please note that the equipment provides monitoring and does not enable access to emergency ambulance services. You will be expected to take all reasonable care to protect the sensitive electronic monitoring equipment provided. A secure study number code will provide security of your personal health and identifying information.

Your Profile
We are looking for participants with suspected or confirmed cardiac rhythm abnormalities, but who are not at immediate high risk of dangerous heart illness.

Furthermore, participants need to have a Windows PC at home with internet connection to be able to upload the data to a website.
